Series I, is the first aplciation of Japanese knowlage in mexican fiel.
This Project was develped in Santa María de Atzompa, a small district in the state of Oaxaca were indigenous ceramic traditions were craftsmen have worked in clay for centuries. These same traditions continue today with some modification of the ancient technologies.
For this Project a series of bowls and vessels were design and were developed in collaboration with artisan Francisca Regino at her house. Special tools were designed to allowed allowed the serial production of the collection. Each one of the pieces created by the artisan, are still unique.
Pieces were first fired in Francisca´s wood kiln, then to be glazed and fired in a gas kiln.
